Today, I will talk about kindness.

Today, I will talk about kindness.

Ten days ago, Stephanie, one of our neighbors and most enthusiastic patron, came over for her family's weekly cookie fix. As Stephanie was about to leave, she handed my daughter 50 cents. "For your piggy bank," she said. I told Stephanie that my daughter doesn't have a piggy bank.
Last Saturday, Stephanie came back with two clear plastic canisters in her hands, the rectangular type that one may use to keep the coins in. There were coins already in them. One also contained two thick, colorful knitted hair ties.
"For the kids," she said. "My dad used to do this for all of us and some of the neighbor kids."
Now, my kids are the beneficiaries of that generational kindness.
Thank you, Stephanie. I hope you don't mind that I doxxed you. I know you don't expect to be named for your good deed, but I think the world can always hear another piece of good news.
