Mental Health Matters Summer Block Party 2025

This Saturday, Cookie Paradise will be at a summer block party sponsored by Mental Health Matters. There will be a free BBQ.
15% of our cookie sale proceeds will go toward improving mental health in Bartholomew County, a cause dear to our hearts.
For years, Van has been struggling with depression. She continues to attend therapy sessions once a month. Trung has experienced his own bouts of depression, but fortunately has overcome. They know how real and devastating mental illness can be. Therapies saved Van's life and lifted Trung out of the darkness.
Do you know that there are 89 mental health providers to every 100,000 people in Bartholomew County, which is less than the national average of 115 providers to every 100,000 people?
Do you know that more than 1/3 of adults in households with children in Bartholomew County feels sad or depressed longer than 2 weeks at a time?
As a parent of two toddlers, Trung is not surprised. He has endured more meltdowns this week than during his first two years of mariage.
Anyway, mental health, just like physical health, is an important aspect of a person's well-being. And, it's nothing to be feared or stigmatized. With the right tools, it can be improved.
If mental health is an issue dear to your heart; BBQ sounds nice; and a few delicious cookies tickle your belly; please show up tomorrow.
P.S. We will still have a cookie stand in front of our house as normal. The mental health awareness block party is between 11am - 1pm.
