Children Books' Author Sydney Simone Wells

I didn't know that Columbus has a children books' author.
Her name is Sydney Simone.
Maia and I met her while we were out selling cookies at a block party for mental health awareness at 9th St. Park on a Saturday.
I bought her book. It's called, "So You Say You Can't Sleep." It's a book about dreams.
What it would be like to be a bird with wings, perching on a line high above. What it would be like to be a basketball star, a race car driver, a pirate hunting for treasure, or an astronaut.
All the great dreams a kid can dream when she sleeps, or after she has waked.
Maia loves her book. The main character is a girl, just like her.
Sydney, a mother of 4, two of which twin girls, certainly understands how difficult it may be for a child to fall asleep. So much to do. So much to see. Her book is a response to that childhood's restlessness.
And, it is nice that the book rhymes.
Sydney signed Maia's book. Dream big dreams, she said.
As I write these words, Maia is asleep. I hope Maia's having one of those great dreams that Sydney talks about.
If you see Sydney around town, come say 'hi.' Buy her books!
Your kids will appreciate them.
P.S. Maia was having a big midday dream when Sydney signed the book and I took her photo. Kid will be kid. At least, I have the photo for proof.
